Lady Ga(y) Ga(y) @ Allphones Arena Sydney 30th August

Lady fucking Gay Gay, was so cray cray and incredible-ay (Call up a talent agent I'm the next Iggy Azelea). This bitch does not play around when it comes to a concert. With a constant stream of at least 500kg of confetti being poured into the audience and Gaga's A$$ in a thong all night long, I was a happy monster.

BUT before I get all gaga over Lady, I will mention that it did feel like she didn't have her heart in it. She had her tits out at some point, and shook them around, but dammit that doesn't always mean you're enjoying yourself (even though it does mean that when it comes to me). Voice was amazing, costumes, dancers, stage and routines too; but it seemed rehearsed and rushed. That's all I'll say, don't worry though, I'm still a superfan.

GIVE ME Givenchy (& Jimmy Edgar) @ Motorik 8th August

If I was a DJ, I would wish that I had Jimmy's tunes (and incredibly extensive knowledge in techno music as well as exquisite taste in tracks that go untz untz).

I'm not gonna lie, because I owe I it to myself to accept the truth. My night ended at 2am. Hi my name is Renata and I am a weak bitch. It was even my birthday that night, but by god I swear I am 20 going on 55. Even after a shot of Patron XO (not regrettable) and a can of Red Bull (regrettable). But I can fully assure you, that before I vouched for no pants, a Billy Idol shirt and bed, I was completely transported to a land of untz bang pow by a Mr Edgar. What a sexy sexy set that was (well, the parts I heard). Come back already Jimmy, next time I'll be sure to track down some Ritalin from my hyperactive friends and increase my Patron XO intake by at least 130%.

MOTORIK | ULTRAVIOLET 18th January ☯

First one of the year, and probably the sweatiest of the year too. Not only did we get to celebrate the launch of Francis Xavier's Chastised and Canonised EP, but also Wordlife's Club Strobe EP. Well. That's a little bit fun.
I had a little bit of fun too, some would say #toomuch, but that's what this is all about, right? Anyway, the warehouse space was snazzy and ravey and pulsing, and most of all, SECRET. Well, until everyone knew.
They warned us, and it did marinate you, not only in your own perspiration, but in scrumptious, groovy, techno tunes. The music was all groovy, all absorbing and most of all UNTZ-y as hell. As always. Oh, and it was also a UV rave, which meant WHITE, and also some questionable smears and smudges across peoples faces, and also the bathroom sinks.
Lads and bitches, I give you, three consecutive photographs of me drinking Patron XO out of a Slush Puppie cup. Hashtag WHY.

H A L L O W E E N @ MTK 1st November

It was SUPA scary and a little bit awesome. As always, the rave cave was decked out in rave-y goodness. This time it was plastered with Halloween fun, black, black and more black, with the occasional white letters spelling M T K, in case anyone forgot where they were. Which I'm sure people did, because; Yes, it got that cray cray.
Not only where there scrumptious tunes, but ghoul-y patrons who definitely got into the Halloween spirit. Errryone looked immaculate at arrival, only to have it ruined 1 hour later when the dancing took priority over costume rights.
With killa Techno vibes from Jon Convex, Thomas Von Party and the Motorik Vibe council, what else could you want?
As usual; Tasty Techno Tunes, Chill Vibes, Party-monster-esque patrons. U N T Z, U N T Z, U N T Z.

I wore a cropped wife-beater, my white leather gym shorts, my trusty Doc Martens, dripped my chest in gold and got some blood up on me.

Ps Guess who?

DISCLOSURE + ALUNAGEORGE + DUKE DUMONT @ University of Canberra 4th October

To welcome in the long weekend, in all its glory, I thought I'd take a trip down to Canberra to watch Disclosure, AlunaGeorge and Duke Dumont. For anyone who lives in Australia, you're probably asking "Why Canberra?". Well, I missed out on ListenOut and their sideshows in Sydney, so I had no choice, and I was desperate to catch these amazing acts.

So we missed numerous turns, that was partially my fault, for deciding we should listen to R Kelly's 'Trapped in the closet', but we finally made it. I'll admit, we did miss AlunaGeorge, which I was fuming over. But Duke Dumont graced the rowdy crowd with his presence and all was forgotten. All in all, an amazing performance from both Duke and Disclosure, besides the fact that I got stuck behind a pole, and a couple grinding and tongue touching, I loved every scrumptious moment of that UK garage goodness. It was just deliciou$.

So I kept it rad with some Subtittled plaid, a thrifted black sheer cami, my satin Bralette, thrifted and sewn Holey jeans and dipped myself in gold. I was the most practically dressed gurl there, it was 4 degrees Celsius and girls were wearing skirts. No one cares how hot you look when its 4 Degrees.

U N T Z | U N T Z | U N T Z @ Motorik 6th September

If you've missed the last Motorik parties then consider yourself Square.
Non-stop good vibes, Tasty, tasty tunes, and Party monster-esque patrons. Motorik has it all. The Vibe Council started the night with some chilled beats, only making everyone clench their fists more with excitement and anticip-ation. This time the warehouse was equipped with a back area, mood-lit for your pleasure, and lined with couches for the weak. The walls were plastered with UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ, to obviously remind us to UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ all night.

I wore a cropped cami, Leather Gym shorts, Thrifted polka dot overshirt and some platformZ. You best believe I did not look this put together by the end of the night. It would have been a shame if I did, really.

✌ paint day at T H E H A U N T ✌

Artists Mike Watt, Sindy Sin, Alex Lehours, Dale Bigeni, Adrien Teem Repeti and Trait Cross, pleased the crowd with their sweet, sweet Art last Saturday.
Held in a converted warehouse was a pile of people just wanting to see some dudes paint and listen to some tasty tunes while having a Cider. There was a bar, some sweet DJs and artists on all levels, all walls and all rooms of the house laying down their impressive work. The place was completely transformed thanks to them, though the warehouse was filled with the fumes of spray paint. Which I'm not complaining about, a little bit of dizziness is always fun.

I h e a r t ♥LOVE CLUB♥

There were floatation devices hung from the ceiling and from patron's arms, childhood mickey mouse blankets strewed across a door opening, teddy bears smacked against the back wall of the DJ booth. Essentially, it was a childhood dream of mine to one day build and probably live in a place like this. I fulfilled my dreams, in a more drunk, messed up and 20 year old kind of way. You should too.
A Friday night at LOVE CLUB, and you'll be hooked. You'll also be left crying into a bottle of hard liquor when I tell you what you missed out on last Friday night.
I hope you're familiar with Ksubi, because the co-creator, Dan Single a.k.a DANGEROUS DAN, who also had his golden fingers in Bang Gang, pleased the crowd with his Disco decibels. With the likes of that, you're already regretting it aye? Anyway, we also got the pleasure of seeing, or rather listening and grooving to VIVI, 'chairman and rave shaman of Motorik'. Oh and the head man of Death Strobe Recordings, a mr LE ROUGE.
It was a night of techno-disco-funky-groovy-madness, and you missed out on it. So you shouldn't miss out on the next one.

THIS is what happens when you give a very intoxicated (swear he wasn't even going to drink that night) person the camera.

Shhh, its a secret, with three h's.

You know what popped like fucking crazy ?

Me.

I am having a bita trouble remembering my night, but I'll give you my best shot at describing every scrumptious, drunken & cray cray moment.
So we began the night at a friends warehouse. Drank our troubles away, along with our dignity, sensible judgement and a little bit of our ability to string a sentence.
I was three Elevates deep when we made our way to the supra secret location. supra secret.
BYO. Minimal security. No police. I quickly found I had everything I needed there to create a lovely little night for myself. The only downside was there was one bathroom for 200 people, male and female, and while I had the sensibility to close and lock the door, a lot of patrons, mostly male, forgot to lock it at least, which did lead to several awkward encounters.
People were openly carrying their goon sacks, throwing them over their shoulders, and politely being asked to leave them at the door when they stepped outside for a smoke. Like a lovely coat service for your alcohol. At this point, I had smashed through the 4 Elevates and was mooching off any goon sack I could find, and maybe even some cider. I do remember having cider.
When the First lady of techno granted us with her presence, I remember lurching my head as high as I could to catch a glimpse. And then, that's it.
Seriously guys, that's it.
I know she dropped one bomb, because I woke up, fully dressed, make-up stinging my eyes, hugging my sequinned bag, with the words 'some magic, some raw nerve, surrender' ringing and ringing.
To put it simply, that night was so delicious, I want to spread it on a crumpet.
It was great. And I will definitely be at the next one, and the next one, and ERRY ONE.

The theme was black, so I didn't have much freedom. Black wet-looks, a fringed over-shirt and a high neck top. And, as always, my embroidered sequinned bag, found at the back of my childhood closet.
